Plot
Zhu is the eldest daughter of a successful winery. Bubbly and cheerful, Zhu often goes to town dressed as a guy as no good daughter from a well-to-do family should ever be seen gallivanting about town. Zhu¡¦s father, Zhu Gong Yuan had made enemy with Qian Rong Wei who now became a high magistrate and took revenge on Zhu's family by seizing their wine business and making Zhu as one of his many wives. Fortunately, General Ma who is infatuated with her comes to her rescue. In order to protect his daughter, Zhu is sent to the valley, where Zhu meets Shan. She recognizes him assisting the authorities in capturing a big time robber. Over time, they become good friends. One day, Zhu injuries herself and Shan have to carry her down the hill to seek treatment and found out Zhu is a girl, which started a relationship. At the same time, General Ma already proposed a marriage with Zhu. Zhu strongly repels and she is locked up by his father. After hearing the news, Shan could no nothing but rescue Zhu by violence. After a series of chasing and fighting, could Shan finally rescue the one he loves eternally?

- The movie is based on the Chinese legend "Butterfly Lovers" (Liang Zhu), a tragic romance between two lovers, Liang Shangbo and Zhu Yingtai, from whom the name of the legend is known in Chinese. The legend is regarded sometimes as the Chinese equivalent of Romeo and Juiet.
